King Akhenaton was one of the most important kings of ancient Egypt, when he ascended the throne, his name was Amenophis IV, but he had troubles with Amon priests that caused him to change his name into Akhenaten, which means the faithful one to Aton, he appointed himself as the first priest of Aten, he convinced his wife, his court and his family to change their religion too, priests of Amun confronted him, then he left Thebes and established a new capital at Amarna, some kilometers north of Thebes. The king is depicted with a narrow and emaciated face, with an ecstatic smile, slanted and elongated eyes. This is representing an androgynous silhouette, with a hollow chest, protruding belly and broad hips and rounded thighs. He wrote many praising poems for Aton. His wife Nefertiti had many splendors and beautiful busts and reliefs.
