Mummification is consider a surgical procedure to extract out the internal organs of the deceased. The conservation of the body is an important point for survival in the afterlife; so it took place immediately after the body died. This process was an evidence for the advanced medicine and surgery in ancient Egypt. It aimed to preserve the body for the resurrection once again in the afterlife. The Deceased was supplied with the spells and ritual scenes to recite before Osiris to allow him arrive to paradise. Embalmers will extract the brain by means of a metallic hook, via the nose, then making an incision on the left side, with the help of a knife of obsidian, the cutter will remove the viscera, the body is then washed with palm wine, and aromatic substances, resin- soaked linen , natron, dried onions, sawdust and aromatic plants. The extracted viscera, from the body, prepared and mummified, will be kept inside four vases, which is called Canopic Jars, and placed in the tomb in front of the dead feet. The body was wrapped, purified and kept inside coffin of wood, gold or silver. Which was kept inside the sarcophagus whose lid was about 3 to 4 tons. In this exhibition 25 coffin for 25 mummies, furthermore, there are about 20 canopic jars with different sizes.
